Christmas at Changi Airport T3

After watching the Sesame Street show, we decided to pop down to Changi Airport.

Right now, there is a Christmas fantasy theme where there is a magical teapot feature right in the middle of Terminal 3’s Departure Hall where we can experience hourly light-ups complete with exciting effects (however, when we were there, we did not managed to see the hourly light-ups.)Javier was so super duper happy inside the car while on the way to airport.

Sesame Street Musical Show

It is the time of the year where there is a great many of musical show in shopping mall. Since I cannot possibly bring my boys to all, I shortlist a few of the characters that they like. And Sesame Street is one which  both of them likes.

Kuala Lumpur Trip (21-24 November 2010) - Day 01

D got a last minute plan for a business trip to KL, so he asked me whether I am keen to go with him. Actually I was feeling in dilemma as I really cannot bear to leave my boys behind and go alone (especially Javier who is really very clingy towards me).

When I brought them to my PIL place today, I was feeling really bad as I saw Jayden crying so badly and blocking the gate to stop me from going. On the other hand, Javier was much calmer, it might be I have been repeatedly telling him that he would be staying with 'his ah ma’ and he has come to accept it. He only whined a while and then said goodbye to me.

And so after hard-heartedly bidding goodbye to my boys, we started our way to KL. One of the reason that we drove there is because I cannot make up my mind to go alone or bring my boys along. So in the end D decided it would be much flexible to drive there, as we can still bring the boys with us if last minute there is a change of plan.

It was a long 5hr drive, and luckily we did not lost our way… When we reached Sheraton Hotel, it was already 5pm. We quickly proceed to do our check-in.

A very bad fall

Jayden got a very bad fall today. He was playing catching with the kids and accidentally trip on a chair, fell and knocked onto the leg of a wooden high chair. The bruise was quite bad and get really swollen by late afternoon. After applying “Zambak” the miracle cure for bruise, swollen cream… it still doesn’t get better. So we decided to skip the Taekwondo class and bring him to see a doctor.

Luckily, the doctor mentioned that it is just a superficial wound and would get better in a few days. Nothing was prescribed by the doctor to bring down the swollen, so in the mean time, I would still apply “Zambak” on the “ba lu ku”.

Last Day of school

Today is the last of school for the kids, but to Javier it also means he won’t be seeing his “Little Friends” next year. As I have mentioned in my earlier post, Javier would be going to a new school next year January. I know he would miss his friends and the teachers….

I wanted to take some pictures of him with his good friends, but it seems ‘Mission Impossible” with 4 kids running about. So these are the best pictures taken today!

Well, now I am already anticipating for our play dates with Javier’s friend during the school holiday, as I know my boys would love meeting up and playing with them.Javier’s pal – Bing Heng – He plays well with Javier while Jayden really adore him. I have never seen Jayden so caring towards any kids. Today I saw another side of Jayden which surprise me. He was so doting towards Bing Heng, machiam like Bing Heng is his little brother. Frankly speaking, I seldom sees Jayden treat Javier so nicely… And of course, this is my little boy enjoying his biscuits.Javier’s pal – Stella - A very comical and pretty girl.

Spanner… Hammer…Bolts & Nuts

This tool box was Javier’s birthday present from lucas mummy. It has being kept in the storeroom for a long time. It was not until I was tidying the storeroom that I happened to see it remembered about it. This is a really good toy for practicing fine motor skill.Javier was getting frustrated trying to unscrew the nail using the screw driver as he was getting nowhere trying his best to turn here and there.

Casuarina Curry

Jayden loves Prata, so we brought the boys here for some prata before we head to Upper Pierce Reservoir for some strolling and bubble blowing. But the weather did not permit our trip to the Reservoir… as there was a sudden downpour!

Homeschooling Week 27th & 28th (Part II)

Beside the lapbook activities that we did for the past 2 weeks. These are the other activities for our Letter S learning. I used the magnetic alphabets to introduce Javier some words that start with S.

Homeschooling Week 27th & 28th (25 Oct – 07 Nov 2010)

I was surfing the net looking for good books for the boys and came across this book which I think should be quite fun and interesting to do a lapbooking with Javier based on the “The little Mouse, the Red Ripe Strawberry and the Big Hungry Bear. For my lapbook materials, I printed the material from here.

A game of Monopoly

Monopoly…. it seems so distant to me now. It is a game which I loves playing when I was young… I am sure most people played this game at least once in their life. It is that popular during my times.

Improvement….

I was looking through Jayden 听写 book, and I realise my boy’s handwriting has improved so much as compared to 6 months ago. Although most of the times, he still write his words or Chinese character ‘too big’, but I can see that his handwriting now is already quite good.  Now 6 months ago

My 2 Little Helpers…. :)

My boys are always so ready to help out in my daily chores. I just have to say “who wants to help me?”. The 2 of them would come dashing out ready to do their part. :)

花生根

I get to know about 花生根 from one of Javier’s classmate mummy. The main benefit of drinking this soup is ‘有助长高’. It is not easy to get this in the market, but luckily from what the mummy told, I can find this in the Prime supermarket near my place every Tuesday and Thursday. When I show it to Javier, he was so excited!!! He even wan to pluck the peanut to eat, which of course cannot lo… :P

Books that Javier read - October

We borrowed quite a number of books this month. But these are the few that caught Javier’s attention. To make our reading session more fun, I would ask him some questions as I read the book.

And one thing I realised is that when I have read books (which interest him) to him for a few times, I realised that he can memorize the story. (I get to know this because one fine day, I was reading “The very hungry caterpillar to him”, unintentionally I just read and stop at one part of a sentence, and he continue to read out the rest of the sentence based on his memory, and I also realised that he had a already memorise the whole book – “The very hungry caterpillar” by heart)

Thus from that time onwards, I would purposely stop halfway of the sentence and let him continue when we read books togather. oct book

Just kicking ball…

It was just a lazy afternoon whereby my boys refused to take their nap. So what did they do… throw, kick and sit on the ball is what my boys do best!!!! We just have to dodge and looked out for the ball in case it hit us. :P

We are on our way to JB City Square….

Instead of nuah-ing at home since we did not have any place in mind to go, we decided to head to our nearby neighbour-Johor Bahru for some shopping and lunch. Although there are so many choices for restaurant to choose from, my boys prefer MacDonald to anything else. So off we hopped there for our lunch.

After our lunch, we went to popular to get some stuffs, Javier was busy choosing the books that he wants, but slowly and ultimately rejected by me lah. So in the end, he got himself a Animal puzzle which he loves it to bit!!!!

D told me there is puppet show at the atrium, and without hesitation, we brought the boys down to level 1 to watch it, as I am sure they would enjoyed it alot! And true enough, both of them are so engrossed in the show.

白米粉

logo

友发餐室-三巴旺白米粉  is located at a corner of the road junction with 3 huge yellow square signboard written with the word "白米粉" which you can see it from far away (it is across the street from sembawang shopping centre). I am not sure we are unlucky or not fated to have our meal here. We only finally managed to have our meal here on our 3rd visit. This 1st time we went, the place was closed, the 2nd time we went, it was so crowded with super duper long queue and worst of all, there was not place to park our car. This place is always packed with waiting customers who comes to patronise their signature dish which is the "Teochew Style White Bee Boon".

Learning Parts of Tree

I thought it would be more fun to do some activities with the boys to introduce them to parts of a tree. I got the idea of doing of “Parts of Trees” booklet from here.

I prepare 2 "Parts of Trees" booklet activity for them to do with one set of control card for reference. You can see it set up in the photos below.

These are the materials which I have prepared.

i Light Marina Bay

gallery16 The 26 light artworks of i Light Marina Bay are placed across 3.5km of Marina Bay to make up the Light Walk that spans The Helix Bridge, The Floating Platform, The Esplanade, One Fullerton, The Promontory @ Marina Bay to the City Gallery at the Waterfront Promenade.

Marina Bay Link Mall

Actually our main purpose coming to Marina Bay was not to shop in this mall. Firstly, most of the shops were not open yet. Kinda deserted when we went into the mall. Our main purpose coming to Marina would be share in my next post. :)

Nevertheless my 2 monkeys sure have fun inside the very deserted mall!

Zoo again!

We finally make our way to the zoo today after our last visit during September. Actually it is not so long ago lah… but since it is Javier’s place to visit, he has been nagging and begging us to bring him there every week. So 1 month to us is really a long time for not visiting the zoo.

Buzz LightYear

I can see that Javier is more excited in this present as compared to Jayden. Every night he would drag out this present and ask us to fix this Buzz model kit with him. And finally, we decided to get some serious work done in fixing it up today. I guess you can imagine who is the happiest of all! :) This is our completed Buzz LightYear.

3rd PV Assignment – Excursion to The Helix Bridge and Watching Movie @ Marina Golden Village

Woo hoo.. I received my PV assignment last Sunday and was thinking “this must be the most relax and easy assignment since we are going to watch movie.”

Well, it was really a easy assignment today as bringing the P6 kids to excursion is much easier than bringing P2 kids(my previous 2 assignments are with P2 kids), as they are older and much more independent. However, given a choice, I would much much prefer to be bringing the P2 kids, cos they are much more innocent, cute and fun! I enjoyed myself better with these younger kids compared to the P6 kids.

I arrived in school at 8.15am, arrgh… it was so early.. and normally I only woke up at 8.30am. :P

Wooden Puzzle

A very simple wooden puzzle for Javier to practice the alphabet sequence and the order of numbers. Although he can recognize the letters and numbers very well now, but he still has problem putting them in sequence. He likes to play with this puzzle, but since he doesn’t know the sequence well, I got to play with him. If not, he would be busy throwing the pieces around instead of joining it togather. :P The wooden puzzle consisting of a crocodile and snake.
