Currently we are still reading Peter and Jane series. Other time, he like to find books from the bookshelf and read himself.

Just an update of Javier on his reading progress.

Update: Reading Peter & Jane Book 4B

Just an update on the reading of Peter and Jane series. Currently Javier is reading book 4b and he do enjoy reading it.

We are now into book 4a and sometime I do face tantrums from Javier when he is not in the mood to read. But overall he is doing fine.

Currently, he is reading book 3b, and enjoying it! I would only get him to read 1 page to me everyday, but when he is in a ‘reading’ mood, he would offer to read 2,3 or even 4 pages to me. :}

As he was reading this, he was also busy munching on apple which explains why some part of the reading wasn’t very clear. :D

Javier reading Peter and Jane book 3a

Just a short update on Javier’s progress on reading Peter and Jane series. Currently, he is reading book 3a, although I can’t say that he loves reading it very much, but at least he is more willing to read it now as compared previously.

Javier reading Peter & Jane Book 2a

I have stop the Peter and Jane reading with Javier for close to 2 months. Recently I started it with him but rather slowly again, in case he gets turn off again.

Javier was in a super good mood today that he rushed to grab this book and says he wanted to read it himself. And he even read a few pages at one go.

It was not easy taking video of Javier reading this book. But well, today he is in a very good mood, and quite cooperative to read it. And when I told him I will take video of him reading, he says “ok!”

Currently we are doing a revision of the words learnt in book 1a by reading book 1b. I tried to make it a routine for him to read 3 pages on alternate day.

Javier’s Reading

I have recently started the Peter and Jane series reading with Javier. I try to match Javier’s pace with regards to this activity as I don’t want to overwhelm him and kill his interest in it. Since I started reading with him for about 3 weeks (I tried to read with him daily, but on days that he doesn’t want to read, I will just stop and try again on the next day), I am glad to see progress in his word recognition. He can recognise word like is, in, a, Peter, Jane, shop, dog and has in book 1a.
