Readers : 我很开心

He likes to show me his work and talk to me about the work or things he did or learnt in school. But this only happens when he brought back the works during half term. Other than that, he doesn’t says anything when he came back from school every day. Whenever I asked him, he says do writing, sing song…..

He loves reading the readers he brought back to school to me. I think the teachers did a good job, he can recognize the words in this book well.

A simple book with many of Javier’s favorite animals. He love reading this book!  Hear him said, “小象加油!”, he is so comical and cute.

Just an update on Javier reading progress. Since Chinese New Year is just around the corner, we read the book on 过新年。

A quick update on our Chinese learning. He can recognize a fair amount of Chinese characters after starting the 四五快读 and currently we are at book 2.

Recently, I started Javier on this series of Pre-school Reader.

Jayden reading chinese book

Currently, Jayden chinese reading skill is still not very strong yet as his recognition of the chinese characters is quite limited. I hope that thru his lesson in Berries and ad-hoc coaching from me would enable to him broaden his chinese words recognition.

Every month , he would take back a chinese reader book from his school. I would say he can read very well to the extend that I think he has already memorise the story by heart instead of recognising the individual words. So sometimes, I would point to a specific words and ask him.  I would say he can recognise 80% of the words but still my help in reading some of the words.
