Taekwondo Certificate Presentation

Its been almost 3 years ago since he started his Taekwondo lesson. It has not been a very easy one for him initially as he keep forgetting his stunts and he got to put in a lot of effort and practices before his grading test. But as he progresses, he improves a lot and I no longer go to the lesson with him, normally D would send him there. And I would be at home shaking leg (how I wish so,but Nah…. I am busy with housework chores while D brought the boys out) From then on, he learnt his stunts well, and I don’t even bother to ask him to show me the stunts before the grading test like what I used to do with him in the beginning.

Few months ago, he took his Black belt grading test and I am happy to say, he Pass!!!!! Thus today he would be receiving his certificate for attaining the black belt first degree (Dan) . Of course it doesn’t end here, black belt can be advance to as high as 8 degree (Dan).

This is his belt with his name and the stripe(one stripe indicating first degree) engraved on it.

83rd STKDG Grading

We attended Jayden TKD grading today. And is glad to see that he passed the grading and would be moving on to the next stage.

Staring into space as he waited for his turn.

He need to demonstrate competency during the grading in front of a panel of judges by doing a variety of techniques (Stunts).

After his stunt, he is required to have a sparring with an opponent which is the same belt level as him.

And of course this is me and Javier. He was super bored and up to his mischief the whole time we were there. :(

Taekwondo Grading

We woke up bright and early for Jayden’s Taekwondo Grading. But prior to the grading, we met up with Jayden Taekwondo’s buddy to have our breakfast at Queensway Ridout Tea Garden MacDonald.  The 1st time I was here, we did not get a chance to explore the surrounding due to the heavy downpour. Thus this time round, after exploring , we discover that there is gem hidden in this place, which is none other than the pond which is  filled with turtles and fish.

Taekwondo Yellow Belt Grading

It was such a bad weather since early in the morning. We were half drenched when we reached Queenstown CC for the grading. Jayden is always very confident when it comes to his his taekwondo grading, and told me not to worry and said that he would pass. :P Seems that I am more nervous than him.

Although he know his stunts well, but I would prefer if he would do it more smartly and slowly rather than hurrying through the whole process. (As you can see in the video, he does it really fast… :(

Practicing and monkey-ing around while waiting for the grading to start.

Kick!!!!!

Currently, Jayden is busy learning his yellow belt stunts for his coming grading test in June.

He is still enjoying his taekwondo lesson greatly, but me and D feel that he lacked discipline as the instructors are too lenient with him. As he is one of the youngest there, the instructors tend to be very lenient with him and won’t scold him even when he misbehave. He was talking and playing with his friends when the lesson is going on.

Taekwondo 5th Lesson

Jayden is still deeply in love with his Taekwondo Lesson, he would not miss it for anything. Today I decided to bring a coloring book to keep Javier occupied, so that he won’t be running all over the place. While I can take some rest sitting down.

And I think I make the right decision, at least it keep him occupied for a good 30mins. Javier and a little boy doing the colouring.

Taekwondo Lesson

Today is the 3rd lesson. Jayden enjoys it so much that he wouldn’t miss it for anything. Even when he is feeling unwell, he will insists that he is fine just so that he can go for the class. And from Monday he would start asking me when is the next Taekwondo class. So you can see how badly he is looking forward to it! :)

The class would start with warm up, follow by splitting into different group based on the level and start the practice. The sprint after the warm up exercise. Jayden was like in a dreamland as all the kids were busy running. I simply cannot stand him and give him the eye signal and ask him to get ready to run! :(

Taking up a sport?

imageAll along, I have wanted to let Jayden get involved with a sport, in fact anything is fine with me as long as he likes it. My main objective is to let him take up a sports that he likes as a form a exercise. But all the while I get negative feedback from him and thus my plan was shelve again and again. Until few days ago, while chit chatting with my neighbor, she told me she is sending her boys for taekwondo lesson.

Our conversation set my mind rolling and I was very very keen to let Jayden join the taekwondo also. In fact, it would be so much easier to convince him to to take part as he is buddy buddy with the 2 boys and likes playing with them.

Haha… I was right! Initially he did not want to go for the lesson, but I keep pyscho-ing him saying that he can play with the boys if he go to the taekwondo lesson. Hmm… phew.. he finally agreed.. !!!

Jayden have his first lesson today, he was enjoying himself alot with the punching and kicking that he learnt today. I asked him whether he likes to go to the lesson again, he says ‘yes’! I hope that he would maintain this level of enthusiastic as the lesson proceed and just enjoy himself in the lesson.
