Let’s Bake

“Let’s bake” activity is a yearly event in Jayden’s school. I still remember he baked moon cake last year and brought back his first ever self made goodies for us to eat. He was really looking forward to this activity and kept telling us what he is going to bake today. He came back Today looking so proud and full of satisfaction as he brought back these choco cornflakes that he bake in school for us to try. It really taste wonderful and I told him so, he was so happy to hear that we love the snack he had made.

The Duo Cupcakes

The boys has been bugging me to bake cupcakes for them a few days ago. Initially I was thinking of trying out a new recipe “Oreo Cupcakes”, but the lazy bug in me decided to leave this for another day. :P So Tada.. I bake a mixture of butter cupcakes and chocolate cupcakes for them. And of course butter for Jayden and chocolate for Javier.

Happy Teachers’ Day

I am deeply thankful to the teachers who shower my boys with love and patience in school and all the hard work and efforts they have put in, for educating them.

On this special day, I decided to prepare something for them, {cranking my brain} which is pretty limited. :P Thus I decided to bake some butter cupcakes.

Rainbow Butter Cookies

I baked these cookies for Javier’s school racial harmony day celebration tomorrow. Actually I was feeling kinda lazy from the baking yesterday and wasn’t really in the mood to bake today. So I asked Javier if is it ok if I fried fishballs for him to bring to school tomorrow instead … And his reply was a firm ‘no’ and that he wants me to bake cookies for him.

My little boy kept asking me and remind me to bake cookies for him before he left for school. So how can I disappoint him???? So I decided to do a simpler one instead of the doggie cookies.

Milo Doggies Cookies

This is my 2nd time baking this doggies cookies. The previous time I made Horlick Doggies Cookies whereas for this baking, I substituted horlick with Milo instead. As it turn out the doggies still look as ugly as the previous baking. :(

I baked these cookies for Jayden Racial Harmony Day celebration in school tomorrow. He was  pretty excited when he saw these when he came back from school today. After he gobbled up the 2nd piece of cookies, I asked him whether is it nice? He says “of course!” :D

Whereas for my other little boy, he was stuffing down the 3rd piece when I asked him.

Mummy: Nice or not?
Javier: Yucks, Not nice!
Mummy: @_@
{A while later…..}
Javier: Mummy, can I eat one more?
Mummy: I thought you said not nice.
Javier: Nooooo… very nice!!!
Mummy: @_@

Jayden Birthday preparation….

Speaking of Birthday… Jayden is just a few days away from his 5th Birthday. This year we decided to have just a very simple celebration at home, whereby we would only get a cake, instead of the yearly ordering of buffet.

So what about his school celebration??? All kids look forward to the school celebration! And so do Jayden!!!! So I decided to make a little more effort in Jayden school celebration as this is the 1st time that Jayden is celebrating in Hope Kindy, he was all excited about it. Beside getting a cake from Prima Deli, I have also prepare goodies bag filled with home-make cookies.

And I am so glad that my SIL can come over to help me with the cookies baking! :) It was quite tiring and took us almost 3hrs plus to complete the task of baking 100 cookies.

Butter with Choc chips Cupcake

As I have mentioned in my earlier post, these cupcakes was a last minute decision which I make this morning. I like preparing snacks for Jayden to bring to school, So once decision make, i wasted no time and quickly whipped up the cupcakes in less than 45mins. :) What a busy morning for me, luckily my boys woke up late, so at least I have some peace while preparing all the food.

Chocolate Cheese Cake

After a failed attempt to bake a Walnut cake.. why did it fail? Because although it is edible but the final fate of the cake was  “going to the dustbin” :( So I was determine to make another cake. And so today I try out this recipe for “Chocolate Cake with Cheese”. I am quite happy with the cake which I baked today.. the cake is moist and soft with melting cheese.

The only not so perfect part is the top part of the cake. I baked for too long resulting in the top part of the cake being over –baked and thus it becomes too hard.

Crunchy Walnut Cake

A last minute plan to let Javier go over to my MIL place, thus giving me some time to do my own things. I decided to try out this Walnut cake recipe which I got it from here. But instead of the cashew nut, I replace it with Walnut.

Strawberry Shortcake

Recently, I have been feeling really lazy.... Not in the mood to bake. However, I told myself I must do some baking today. During our genting trip, we went to the strawberry farm and picked alot of strawberries back. So I decided to do a strawberry cake today.

I feel so happy when both my boys like the cake alot and told me it is very nice, but Jayden is not a fan of strawberry :( . He dig out all the strawberry and refuse to eat it. But I must admit the strawberry really taste very sour lah.

The strawberry cake I bake todayRed juicy strawberry that taste very sour.

Peachy Rainbow Cake

Actually I intend to bake this cake on Javier actual birthday for just our own celebration. But that day we just celebrate his bday in school and ate a cake. So a bit sick of eating cake for that day. So I delay the cake making until today. The reason why my cake is called 'Peachy Rainbow cake' is due to the fact that the kids like the m&m chocolates and daddy and me like the peach. So all put togather, we get the Peachy Rainbow cake.. :)

When Javier saw the cake, he keep saying he want to eat 'cake', but being his mummy, I know what he thinking lah! He is eyeing on those chocolate.... definetly not the cake he is interested in. But my dear little Jayden like the cake alot.

After baking the cake, we send Jayden to school. I din even have time to take out the cake to let it cool on the rack, cos we are running late.
