Chocolate Cheese Cake

After a failed attempt to bake a Walnut cake.. why did it fail? Because although it is edible but the final fate of the cake was  “going to the dustbin” :( So I was determine to make another cake. And so today I try out this recipe for “Chocolate Cake with Cheese”. I am quite happy with the cake which I baked today.. the cake is moist and soft with melting cheese.

The only not so perfect part is the top part of the cake. I baked for too long resulting in the top part of the cake being over –baked and thus it becomes too hard.

But overall, the cake taste nice and me and Jayden ate 2 slice each but Jayden eat it without the cheese (Jayden don’t like cheese, and if I force him to eat it, he will vomit… so I rather don’t take the risk!)

Ingredients A :
250 gm cream cheese
60 gm castor sugar
1 egg

Ingredients B :
150 gm butter
150 gm castor sugar
3 eggs
4 tbsp cocoa powder
120 gm self-raising flour
1 tsp baking powder

Method :
For ingredient A:
  1. Beat cream cheese and castor sugar until light and fluffy. Then beat in the egg.
For ingredient B:
  1. Sift the flour and set it aside.
  2. Cream butter and sugar. Add in eggs one at a time.
  3. Add in the sifted flour, cocoa powder and baking powder.
  4. Using a 7" square tin, pour in half portion of chocolate batter. Then pour in cream cheese mixture. Pour the remaining portion of chocolate batter to cover the cream cheese portion. (there are a total of 3 layers of batter)
  5. Baked in oven for 150°C for 40 - 45 mins.
  6. Cool well and store cake in the fridge.
