Fun day at Sentosa on a hot hot day!

Its school holiday again. Its time to play! Normally the boys are busy with classes on weekends or loads of homework that they don’t have much time to play. Thus holiday is time for them to relax and enjoy themselves. ^^

Though it was crazy hot today, we decided to bring the boys to Sentosa for the water play as promised. It was also the first time that we bring Joelle to Sentosa Beach. So we were so looking forward to this trip.

She was abit fearful of the water when we put her in. Luckily I brought her favorite rubber duckie along and she felt a little better and secure chewing her duckie.

This is her OOTD – swimsuit from Old Navy. Though I bought a bigger size at 12-18mth, it fit her perfectly now. Luckily I was kiasu enough to buy a bigger size. Ahaha..

She was happy enough just sitting in the shade playing with her sand playing toys. Ahaha.. at least I have little girl to accompany me, because my 2 boys were busy running in the sun digging sand and playing water.

The below 2 pictures are 2 of my favorite shots with Joelle.
Daddy decided to bring her to sand playing and she protested, whine and finally cry. So conclusion 1st attempt to let her try out sand playing FAILED!!!! ^^
Over at the other side, the boys had already dug a deep hole.
Having had enough of water play, I changed her and nurse and she knocked out in exhaustion despite the hot weather. So I just carry her in one position for close to 1 hour.
Javier decided to move nearer to where I am and play. He seems to feel so at home on the sand and rolling and flipping on it. Smile with tongue outMy little grumpy girl woke up from her nap looking blur.
We went over to look for Jayden and saw that he has dug such a deep hole and feeling pretty satisfied with his work. It was difficult to get the boys to go and girl was getting impatient just sitting and waiting. So I brought her to the nearby playground for some fun. She took me by surprise by holding the hand grip and stand by herself. He did not once but twice. ^^ Recently she seems to be learning new things almost every other day.
Seems like little Joelle wasn’t too keen to take this shot with his brother. *Totally no give face to his brothers! Of course we must take a family pictures before we end our trip here and the boys requested to take a picture with the cannon on the way to the carpark as the remarked that the cannon reminds them of the game clash of clan. Ahaha…
We went to the Ah Hua bak kuh the for our dinner before we head for home.
The meat is tender and soup was spicy and shiok. A very fulfilling meal indeed.

That’s all for our trip to Sentosa, fun but tiring! I’m really getting old!

Ngee Fou Restaurant (Hakka) Ampang Yong Tou Fou

Ngee Fou Ampang Yong Tau Foo is a family-run business. From what I remembered, this place has been around for a very long time. The first time when I dine here was even before I know my hubby which was more than 20 years ago! It’s location is definitely ulu, but it’s name has surely spread, whenever I was there, it is normally packed with makan-er. But sad to say, I have not visited this place for so many years, I really miss the Yong Tau Foo here. By the way, there is is another shop further down the row in green signboard which also reads Ampang Yong Tau Foo, but I’m not sure which is better. But we decided on Ngee Fou instead of the other shop is because we had dine here countless of time and it had never disappoint me and what’s more, there seems to be much more people dinning here. ^^ But do take note that  because parking is so limited there, it's best to hit there before the peak dining hour, if not you would have a big headache trying to find a parking space.

Saizeriya Ristorante E Caffé

Saizeriya is a Japanese chain of casual, low-priced Italian Restaurants. We decided to give this place a try after reading some good comments about this place. Actually previously in Guangzhou, I had wanted to try out Saizeriya, but there were just too many food choices there and in the end I gave this place a miss. Another reason for me deciding to pop by here is that Jayden loves Pizza, he is actually a big fan of Pizza Hut,  so I reckon he would be very interested to dine here too.

West Co’Z Café

Just want to share one of my favourite dine-out place whenever I am at West Coast Plaza . West Co'z Café is a halal family cafe, serving mixtures of local Thai Zi Char delights at affordable prices. We had dine there countless of time because it serves really delicious Zi char type dishes and what’s more it’s very value-for money. Most importantly it really suits our JJ’s taste buds and they really enjoys the food there.

Blk 928 Yishun Laksa

After our farm tour, the boys wanted to eat at MacDonald while we wanted Laksa! Thus we brought them to “M” to fill their tummy first before we set off for our yummy laksa.

You must be wondering why I wanted to write a post solely for this Laksa.  This Laksa stall which I am going to mentioned is featured frequently on TV (food shows), magazines and websites. It is a a rather popular place to eat Laksa (at least it is consider one of the best Laksa in the North). This laksa stall is commonly known as the '928 Yishun Laksa', because the stall is situated at a little corner of Blk 928.

永和- 豆浆油条大王 Yong He Eating House (24Hrs)

It was already 9.30pm when the taekwondo certification ends. We (D and myself) were really famished (luckily the boys have had already taken their early dinner). Since we were nearby Geylang, we decided to have our late dinner at  永和- 豆浆油条大王. For the longest time, I thought that they have ended their business, but did not know that they have actually shifted to another location instead. It has been years since I last dine here, I really miss the food.

MIL Birthday Dinner @ Long Beach Dempsey

We make reservation for our dinner at Dempsey Long Beach as this place was usually very crowded, especially on a weekend night We ordered quite a number of dishes and their and their specialty is none other than the crabs (though I am not a big fan of the crab, but I think the gravy was quite nice). So below are the yummlicious dishes that we stuffed into our tummy.

Fried baby squid

Imperial Treasure Super Peking Duck Restaurant

It was our first time dining here. As the name imply this restaurant is famous for its Peking duck – I guess the name could not be more obvious. I was looking forward to our lunch here after reading and hearing good reviews about this restaurant. We were lucky enough to reserve a table for today, but it was quite late at 1.30pm. and even with the booking, we were limited by the 1.5 hour meal time.

Dim sum was served first to feel our rumbling tummy.

The fish dish

Peking Duck ($68 for whole duck)

Like any good Peking duck restaurant, the chef will carve up the duck right at the table. First he removed just the skin off the breast, which he did with skill. The duck skin were thin and crispy.(did not have time to take a picture of the crispy duck skin, as it was snapped up in a flash. Ahaha…)

Next came a couple of platters of duck slices featuring both skin and duck meat as the above picture. Our verdict is that the duck meat is tender and juicy. It was served with the popiah wrap that you can fold the meat in, or for a sweet treat, dip the meat in a saucer of sugar - delicious. (I would well prefer eating without any sweetness) ^_^

Even Javier was in love with it, I think he salvage almost 5 pieces of the duck skin.

A very traditional Chinese vegetable dish.

Also one of the recommended dish was this tofu, spinach and mushroom dish. but there are two different kinds of tofu in this dish. The bottom layer is actually a tofu with blended spinach.

My comment on this restaurant are the food is really tasty, thumbs up for their service too, the staffs are very attentive and courteous! Do remember to pre-order the Peking duck when you make reservations. ^_^

Seng Steamed Fish Restaurant

While goggling for our Kota Tinggi trip, I chance upon this seafood restaurant - Ah Seng Seafood Restaurant. Reading the rave remarks that many had mentioned, I decided to give it a try today. ^^ We nearly bypassed this restaurant simply because the name that many bloggers had mentioned is Ah Seng Seafood Restaurant. But looking at the signage it’s actually Seng Steam Fish Restaurant.

Ah Seng Seafood, which is an open-air eatery is famous for their reasonably priced variety of dishes. Their specialty is none other than the fish (there are 7 different kinds of fish dishes).

While on our way to our table, I noticed that every table had at least one fish dish if not two. We had Ah Seng’s signature - fried fish with sweet chilli and mayonnaise, because that was Jayden’s favourite and also it simply looks so delicious!!!!

The service is really good and food was  served within 15 minutes, though it was quite packed with diners when we had our lunch there.

The fish was crisp on the outside and the white meaty flesh was soft and tender.

Beside ordering the specialty fish, below are the dishes that landed in our tummy too. :D

Stir fried Nai Bai which is one of my favourite.

Bah Kuh Teh – the meat is quite tender and slipped easily off the bone. Soup refill is allowed. ^^

Beancurd with minced meat

Even Javier couldn’t wait to dig in!!!!!

While Jayden reckon Ice Lemon tea should taste much better??????

The  boys prefer to have their all time favourite Ice Lemon Tea, while D and I decided to settle for their homemade drink barley and Luo Han Guo.

I am sure picture speaks a thousand words. Just look at our happy faces…. We are definitely happy customer after our meal here!!
And what’s more, this meal only cost us RM55 which is really cheap!!!!
