Gathering with khakis @ CWP

It’s a long time since I last meet up with my friends, all of us have been busy with our kids during normal days. Its only during school holiday that we would have more free time as our kids do not need to go to school or minimal enrichment. My kids were super-ly excited when they know that we would be going out with Lucas and Bing Heng.

We decided to meet at Causeway point since it is a convenient place for all of us. Our initial plan was to go to the new water playground on Level 6 at CWP, but sadly it is still not open to the public yet. But our kids were equally happy when they have only this small playground to play in. I guess any place is ok with them, as long as their friends are there to enjoy with them.

This little boy was excited and wanted to join in the fun with the big gorgor and Jie Jie, but since he was abit to young, he got to make do with sitting with us - aunties and listen to us gossiping.

Nex Shopping Mall

Its our first time visiting this mall. The place is so huge that we never gotten to do serious shopping here. Reason being that our 2 monkeys were with us. Smile with tongue out But we did noticed that there is a wide variety of western, Japanese and other restaurants and cafes around. And of course my boys were definitely not bothered about the food or shop. What they were looking forward is the fun play at Kidzplay at the rooftop Skygarden.

But firstly, we decided to have our lunch at Food Republic food court which we later realised that is not a very wise choice actually. This food court is nothing to shout about, place wasn’t too big, seats were cramped, not much variety of food, and what make it worst, the food we bought wasn’t very fantastic too…

Chinese learning materials

Today, I went to Bukit Panjang Plaza after dropping Jayden for his Icreative class. And happen to saw that Learn thru play is having sales. A lot of items are selling at a really attractive price. After browsing thru, I decided to get these 2 items for my boys.

This set wasn’t on sales but I find that it this quite suitable for Jayden. (but the kind saleslady gave me the member price which is 10 percent off).

读书郎 is the series after “我会读”, but these series is targeted for more advance reader. There is a total of 6 sets in this series. The first set is more on science, on the topic of caterpillar and butterfly, earthworm, seahorse, lizard, fox, cow…. At the end of the story, there is a list of questions for him to answer too. Besides that, there is a list of “生词表”and all these 生词 and 生字 have hanyu pinyin and meaning (in english) for reference.

JJ creating havoc @ Northpoint shopping Centre

D decided to take half day off today and I was left alone with the boys. :(  (How I wish I can also take a day off) Initially I decided to hop over to SSC which is a much easier place for me when I need to lug 2 boys with me. But aha… so coincidently my mum is at Northpoint when I ring her up, so we decided to change our destination to Northpoint instead.

We have our lunch at Xin Wang Hong Kong Cafe with my mum. While we were busy browsing through the menu, my boys were also very busy looking through it for dessert or drinks. :D

My Dessert House

West Coast Plaza has become one of my hangout since Jayden started his I-creative lesson. We noticed that there was a newly open Dessert Cafe a few months ago but haven’t got a chance to step into it, partly because I am not a really die hard dessert fan! :P Until me and my SIL decided to give this place a try today. Of course after trying out the food and dessert, we are both happy customers when we stepped out of My Dessert House!

I was really spoilt by the variety of desserts to choose from the menu. In the end, I chose mango Sago Pomelo, simply because I love mango and also pomelo! They were truly refreshing and the mango is sweet and portion were generous, with huge chunk of pomelo and best of all the price is very reasonable!

This is what my SIL ordered, Ice Blended with Mango.

What a Child fun Day!!!!

Of course Children’s Day should be a day for the kids to fully enjoy themselves. So what is fun to them??? Of course its none other than able to meet up with their cousin, yummy food, fun stuffs and lots of playing!!!!

We started our day with a train ride to WestMall to meet up with my mum and cousins. Luckily it was quite empty and thus my yakety boys did not attract too much attention from the other commuters.

AMK Hub

It’s been a really long time since I last go AMK… today we decided to make a trip there as I need to get something from a shop there. It definitely doesn’t look the same now, bustling with shoppers and great place to shop and makan. When on our way to find a parking lot, we passed by this Christmas decoration and Javier was so excited and kept bugging me to bring him to see the snowman. It was such a scorching hot day, I was kinda feeling abit reluctant to go, but my boy was so persistent.. so ended up we did go rather than disappoint him!

An impromptu Play date

It was a last minute decision to meet up with my friends at Northpoint as I need to pop by at the library to get some books. We went for our lunch at this Chinese Cuisine restaurant called "MAYIM - 天乐里" after walking around for a good 10 minutes deciding what to eat and finally we decided Chinese cusine would be a much better choice for our kids. Looking through the menu, I find that they have a wide varieties of dishes range from snacks to main course and dessert… and I flipped through the menu for a few times before deciding what to order.

Just me and Javier shopping togather…

Chinese New year is just 1 months time away… So I guess now is the best time to shop for my boys new year’s clothing. Since Jayden is away at my MIL place, I decided to bring Javier to United Square to do some shopping. It is much easier to handle 1 kid myself instead of towing 2 kids with me.

Indeed it is a fruitful and eventful day for us. :) Basically Javier is a very well-behaved boy if he is alone with me. Javier posing for me before we set off for our shopping trip.

We are on our way to JB City Square….

Instead of nuah-ing at home since we did not have any place in mind to go, we decided to head to our nearby neighbour-Johor Bahru for some shopping and lunch. Although there are so many choices for restaurant to choose from, my boys prefer MacDonald to anything else. So off we hopped there for our lunch.

After our lunch, we went to popular to get some stuffs, Javier was busy choosing the books that he wants, but slowly and ultimately rejected by me lah. So in the end, he got himself a Animal puzzle which he loves it to bit!!!!

D told me there is puppet show at the atrium, and without hesitation, we brought the boys down to level 1 to watch it, as I am sure they would enjoyed it alot! And true enough, both of them are so engrossed in the show.

Marina Bay Link Mall

Actually our main purpose coming to Marina Bay was not to shop in this mall. Firstly, most of the shops were not open yet. Kinda deserted when we went into the mall. Our main purpose coming to Marina would be share in my next post. :)

Nevertheless my 2 monkeys sure have fun inside the very deserted mall!

Our Lunch @ Swensen Northpoint

After the concert, we make our way to Northpoint Shopping Centre for our lunch at Swensen. We seems to order too much today.. I was so full after the meal and feeling so sleepy.Drink was served first, and of course the boys cannot wait to drink it.

We went JB again!

Yes, we went JB again…. but this time with my 2 little monkeys. Actually my main purpose is to go to the City Square Popular to get a series of Chinese story books. (Arrrgg… I realize that I miss one book…book 8!!!!) This set of books uses the same technique as Peter and Jane book to teach Chinese. Thus I was planning to use it to teach Javier Chinese. I also managed to get a step by step drawing book to teach the boys how to draw animals (This book was a hit with them!)

Just a typical Day

It was just a normal day with the 2 monkies doing their stunts to entertain us. Photo taking with them is forever so comical and at the same time maddening. However, they were very cooperative today, whatever pose I ask them to do, they did it readily! :P

After having our dinner at home, we went to Yishun Library, and while we wait for D to take his shower, I asked to boys to pose for me.  Jayden with his one leg stand.

Me and Hubby Goes JB

We enjoyed some me-time today as my PIL babysit my 2 boys for me. We face some difficulty when we are about to leave, the boys want to follow us. But Javier was easy to talk to, he says “ok” when I explained to him, but Jayden refuse to listen and insists on following us. So we did a very sneaky thing… we sneak out of the house secretly without Jayden knowledge. :( (After we came back, my mil told me, Jayden practically scream the whole house down when he realise that we have left!!!! crying and shouting and took a long time to calm him.) I feel so bad towards them….

We went JB for some shopping since it has been a long time since we shop in JB. When we reached JB Jusco, it was already 4pm, so after shopping for a while, we have our early dinner at Nando’s specialising in Peri Peri Chicken. If you like your food salty, sour and spicy, then you would absolutely love Peri Peri chicken.

Rides at West Coast Plaza

Previously we would pop by at West Coast Plaza after we send Jayden to his enrichment class on Sat, but we seldom went there now. Today was a exceptional case cos Javier wet his pants, so we got no choice since the careless mummy forgot to bring extra pants. So after getting the pants, We went window shopping. Javier saw this animal rides and was dashed towards it wanting to have a go at it.

He chose the giraffe without any hesitation!

United Square Mall

We decided to go somewhere where there is air-con for our lunch, it was so unbearable hot outside. So we decided on United Square since we can dine and also shop for kids stuffs.

Despite it was already 2pm.. way way over past their lunch time.. they were not feeling hungry at all. They rather play than eat. After dragging them away from the kiddy ride, we went to the food court for a simple lunch.

TimeZone @ Causeway Point

Since we did not managed to go to the zoo. We went to CWP for our dinner and Javier was pestering me to bring him for kiddy rides. Throughout the dinner, Javier was not a bit keen to eat his rice. He keep saying “yao yao” meaning the kiddy rides, and once I release him from the stroller, he dashed towards Timezone.

Actually I was not really keen for my boys to become a frequent visitor of this place. I feel that a lot of youngster nowadays are spending too much time in these gaming centre which is a unhealthy sight. From what I observed in the Timezone, some parents would top up the game card as much as $50 for the kids (some of the kids are very young) to play as they like.
