Reading Peter and Jane book 6b

Update of Reading Progress 12.11.2010

Just a short update of Jayden reading progress of Jayden reading the P&J Series. Currently, he is reading book 11b and doing great. Although he doesn't really love reading it but it has already become a routine for him to read it daily. :)

Update of Reading Progress

Currently Jayden is still reading book 11a, but he is almost completing this book. This is certainly a long journey since we started reading this series, but I am glad I started this reading program with him. :)

Update of Reading Progress

It certainly takes us quite a long time to finish Peter and Jane book 10a and 10b. Mainly, I have not been so diligently pushing Jayden to read it daily. Normally he doesn’t have a habit to read this book himself, sometimes nagging is unavoidable to make him read it.

Although it is not easy in the beginning, but I still persist on since I started this reading program with him since last year July, and I am glad to say that this reading program have benefitted him greatly, even D commented so! We are finally coming to the end of this series whereby book 12b is the last book for the full series.

Jayden started book 11a today.

Jayden Reading Progress

It has been a while since I last update on Jayden reading progress. Currently he is reading book 9b for peter and jane books. His progress is quite good, although he tends to forget some of the words he learnt.

Progress of Reading

Currently Jayden is reading book 7b of the Peter and Jane Series, he is doing really well and can read quite fluently now. Beside reading this book, I also borrow some books from the library for him to read.

Update of Jayden Reading

Currently, Jayden is reading book 6a for Peter and Jane Series. He is doing well for his reading and had learnt alot of new words from reading this series. I would say he had really progress alot since i started this reading program with him 4 mths ago. Four months ago.. he was still struggling with the phonics sound, but now he know his basic phonics quite well le.. Now i am teaching blending of the words with him. I am happy to see the results of his progress.

Jayden learnt well from a fun teaching method.. last time i was applying the wrong method on hom. Keep forcing him to learn and remember.. Now i have discover a new method of teaching him. I will create worksheet using power point to teach him the blending of the words for him to do, of course i add alot of cute pictures in the worksheet. I feel he is more happy with this method and learnt better.

Reading Peter and Jane Series (Part II)

Since he study reading this Peter and Jane series July. He has now progress to reading book 4a. I find that Peter and Jane series is really very good for children who want to start learning to read. From reading this series, Jayden really learn alot of sight words. So now when i read a story book to him, he will point to those words he knows and read it to me. I can really see a great improvement in jayden reading skills now.

I was really clueless on how to teach my son how to read, until i came upon this blog-Tamarind Village. This mommy give a really detail on how to teach a child to read.

So firstly, I went to popular to buy the books - key words with ladybird (Peter and Jane Series) Than off i started my reading with my son. I would spend about 20 mins a day with him on the reading.

I started book 1a on 06 july 09, he finished the book by 16 july 09. He is now reading book 1b, as it uses all the exact word as book 1a, but only that the story is different. He is able to read by himself with minimal guidance. I was really encourage by his progress.
