Last Day of school

Today is the last of school for the kids, but to Javier it also means he won’t be seeing his “Little Friends” next year. As I have mentioned in my earlier post, Javier would be going to a new school next year January. I know he would miss his friends and the teachers….

I wanted to take some pictures of him with his good friends, but it seems ‘Mission Impossible” with 4 kids running about. So these are the best pictures taken today!

Well, now I am already anticipating for our play dates with Javier’s friend during the school holiday, as I know my boys would love meeting up and playing with them.Javier’s pal – Bing Heng – He plays well with Javier while Jayden really adore him. I have never seen Jayden so caring towards any kids. Today I saw another side of Jayden which surprise me. He was so doting towards Bing Heng, machiam like Bing Heng is his little brother. Frankly speaking, I seldom sees Jayden treat Javier so nicely… And of course, this is my little boy enjoying his biscuits.Javier’s pal – Stella - A very comical and pretty girl.

Javier 1st Excursion

busToday was supposed to be Javier’s first School Excursion. The school planned a trip to Pasir Ris Kids Kampong for a half day activity of:

  • Longkang Fishing
  • Feeding of animals
  • Watching Pet Show

I was feeling quite excited upon receiving the letter for this excursion as I was rather keen for Javier to have his first school excursion with his classmate. So that night I brought up this to D, however he was not supportive of letting Javier go for this excursion. :( His main concern is that he is currently too young and he might be too active for the teachers to handle. But on the other hand, I told him that I would be going for the excursion as this is a parent accompanied trip. So this arise another problem~~~ who will look after Jayden if I go for the trip with Javier.

So finally, we decided to give this excursion a miss. As Javier is still too young to understand, he did not feel sad when he did not get to go for the excursion.

Javier Term 1 work in School

How time flies.... Term 1 for school have already ended. Soon after the 1 week break, the hectic schedule will begin for us again!!! Hopefully, Javier will not cry when I bring him to school :( next week.
Little friends is using the letterland approach to teach the children phonics which I think is very good. Last time when Jayden was attending Little friends, he like the letterlands characters alot. So far, Javier have learnt till letter D, he is able to sound out the individual letter to me. I feel that Javier have learnt alot since he attend the playground. I am glad that I have make the right choice to let him attend playground at this young age, cos daddy was not really keen in my idea to send Javier to school now as he say that Javier is only 2 years old. But I feel that at this young age, he is like a sponge, his learning ability is so great, he will definetly benefit going to playground now.

The letterland characters : Annie apple, bouncy ben, clever cat and Dippy duck....

Here is part of Javier phonics worksheets

For this term, Javier learn about "My family"

He is showing me how to wash his face?????

Finally, it is party time!!!!! He has his 2 of his favourite charactes, Barney and Elmo to celebrate his birthday with him.

    My 2 boys.
The little friends teacher is very understanding as she knows that Jayden starts school at 12.30pm, so she started the birthday celebration at 11.30am. Cake cutting. He is so pro in cutting now.
    Mummy, Daddy, gorgor and Javier

Javier din really like to eat the cake, just licking the cream and playing with it.

    Javier going to school...

Day 1: He was really happy when I bring him to school, he even play with the other kids. Seeing him enjoying himself, I quietly left him. Once he realise I was gone, he started crying, the teacher told me he cry for about 15mins. But Teacher Patty managed to pacifiy him and get him to play the toys. When daddy went to pick him up, he was very happy, no sign of any unhappiness.

Day 2: He knows that I am going to leave him in the class today, so he was clingy towards me. He wouldn't let me out of his sight, he would follow me everywhere I go. I just have to let the teacher carry him even though I see him crying so badly. Teacher Patty bring him inside to another classroom to pacify and play with him. He stop crying 5 mins later when I peeped at him at the glass panel on the door. At least he is getting better le.

Day3: Same as Day 2, I brought him inside the classroom to Teacher Patty. He only cry when he see me leaving. After a while, he is ok.

Day 4: When we get out of the lift and walk towards little friends, he start saying 'no no no', he know le, so he is trying to tell me he don't want to go to school. But once he is inside the classroom, he only cry for a while. Teacher Veron told me he is starting to participate in the class activities now, singing and dancing.

I feel so relived that the teachers in Little Friends are so caring and patient.

Day 5: Today we met one of Javier classmate inside our block's lift... I told him to say hello to the boy.. he say ' no no no' , meaning he don't want to go school lah....And when we are waiting for the lift to go to little friends, he began crying and say he don't want to go school.. So i console him and carry him. He still cry badly when i pass him over to the teacher. But I am not too worry, as he will quiet down very fast.

My boys first Day of School 2010

Today is the first day of school for my 2 boys. My little boy Javier is starting his playground class. He cried for a while when i left him in the school. But the teacher managed to pacify him and calm him down.
hmmmm...The photo of Javier really look grouchy, but he was in quite a happy mood on the way to school.

Jayden would be starting his K1 class in Hope Kindergarten.
Getting ready to go to school

He is in the K1 Kindness class

This is the shelf for them to put their school bag. Each slot is labelled with the student name for them to identify their own name. The classroom

The teacher taking the temperature and putting the name tag on their shirt.

Waiting for the teacher to distribute the bumblebee to stick on the chart.

There is some bee hive chart on the wall, each of the students are called to put the bumblebee with their name on the bee hive. Them main purpose of this chart is to take attendance of the students. (Quite creative...) Jayden sticking the bee on the chart.
The children queuing up to go to the washroom to wash their hands , as they would be having their snack after that. After the hand washing, queuing up to go back to their classroom. Like a too-too-train....
Their is a identification label on each of the table to indicate where each of the children is sitting. Each table have a different picture on it. Jayden Table is a rocket label.
    Having his drink.

After distributing the snacks for the children, I left the class. I think Jayden would be able to settle down quite fast. He even told me he has make a new friend in the school bus.
