Books that Jayden Read - October

These are the books that Jayden have read for this month. Well some of it is quite good and worth to do some mentioning here.test

I guessed Jayden’s love for Mr Men’s books has not diminished much. He still zoomed right to the shelf to look for these book upon reaching the library. (However, I have encountered 2 incidents in the library making me a bit upset). On these 2 occasion, no matter how Jayden searched for the Mr Men’s book in the library, he only managed to find 1 (normally we can easily find 10 over books). And later we know the reason, that is we saw 1 kid holding on to more than 20 Mr Men series book, not reading it but just guarding the book, and wouldn’t let anyone touch it. (I mean he won’t be borrowing all of the 20plus book right, should have share with other kids). When Jayden tried to approach him for the books, he just hold on tighter, and not abit willing to let them go. (So I just told Jayden to forget it and go)

Well, below are some of the books which I feel got nice storyline and nice illustration.

Nicholas Where Have You Been by Leo Lionni

I like the book by this author, so I would try to get the books by this author for Jayden to read. This is one of the book which Jayden likes. The mice is angered by the birds who continually pick the sweetest berries, while the mice are left with the unriped ones. When Nicholas goes in search of a berry patch unscathed by birds, he is snatched up by a large black bird, falls into a nest sheltering three baby birds, becomes friendly with them, and finally returns to his fellow mice, telling them of the good deeds of the bird family.

However , do take note that one art page of the mice attacking and killing the birds is too violence for young kids..

Harold and the purple Crayon by Crockett Johnson

This is a book of such simplicity, both in its words and its illustrations. Harold has such a wonderful imagination, and in his hands the purple crayon does incredible things. Be ready to walk through with Harold in his creativity journey, The author plays out this idea with great imagination and humor.

Pigs Might Fly by Jonathan Emmett

This is a very special story of the 3 little pigs. The story is now not about the building of houses, but building a plane. What a unique twist of the story! Children who likes the story of the 3 little pigs would definitely enjoy this story… just like Jayden!

Ok lastly for the story of curious George, so far I love all the book which I have gotten for the Curious George series). George is fun but at the same times he do alot of things that are so maddening (just like my kids).
