Books that Javier read - November

Javier bookWell, some of the books here are chosen by Javier. As you know, Javier is so crazy about animals, any books which have elephant, giraffe or rhino would definitely be a hit with him. So it is no wonder most of the books he choose would be animals related.

Among these books, these few are Javier’s favorite:

Hidden Hippo by  Joan Gannij and Clare Beaton
It is a simple story in rhyming verse with jungle animals on each page. What makes this book fun is that there is a hidden hippo on each page, and he has a fun time spotting the hippo as he turns the page.

I know a Rhino by Charles Fuge
The text of the story is easy to follow with the cute and catchy rhymes and the pictures are very colorful and engaging. It's a great book about a toddler's imagination!

Animal I spy by Kate Sheppard
It is a book on animal spying games. Based on the description on the book, the kids get to spot on the adjoining page for the creature that matches the description. Pretty fun if your kids is a animal lovers. :)

Grumpy Bird by Jeremy Tankard
In the story, a little bird wakes up in a grumpy mood and tries to maintain his grumpiness as he walks (he's too grumpy to fly) around his neighborhood. His friends are oblivious to his grumpy outlook, and think a walk with their bird-friend is a great idea. Their companionship has the ultimate effect of making the bird forget he was supposed to be grumpy. We have a great laugh while reading towards the end of the book. The illustration are unique, fun and captivating.
