It was a place (SPM) that I had wanted to bring the boys to after reading about it in some of the mummy’s blog, but due to our busy weekend schedules, we have been postponing it again and again. And finally today we managed to make it here. I’m glad I make the right decision to bring the boys here as they enjoyed themselves so much and it was also good that not many visitors were here today, which means that the boys have almost the whole place to themselves. ;O
For those who are keen to go, you might want to take note that there is a free admission on this coming Wednesday 26 October 2011 .
As you can see, they just couldn’t wait to start their museum tour….
A mama shop?
A super happy boy posing for me to take pictures.
This is part of the setup in the Heritage Room.
It tells of the story of different migrant races who came to Singapore in the 19th century. We can learn about the trades, different cultural festivals, traditional costumes and musical instruments here. But I guess what interest them is really none of the above mentioned!
But these! The red clogs!!!!
He really looks like a Ah Pek aka old man sitting on the low stool wearing the red clogs.
Information on the different cultural festivals can be found here.
Message Me exhibition explores the development of communication; from the picture language of Egyptian hieroglyphics to the short form text messages of our modern world.
Just look at their expression when they saw this hieroglyphic text machine.
I couldn’t help it but decided to give it a try too. :D hmm… so this it how my name looks like in Egyptian.
Writing on a clay tablet.
And perhaps some games if none of the message writing station interest you?
The older days of communicating. Javier gave up after a while when he couldn’t hear a thing of what D is saying. Thus I decided to try, the sound transmitted is very very soft, I got to hear intently to capture what D is saying.
Inside Sun Yat Sen’s room, the things doesn’t interest the boys one bit but they look comical wearing the hat!
Bunny Wonderland
This is the exhibition which we spend the longest time. It’s a fun and interactive exhibition for young visitors and what’s more, there is ample of space for my 2 boys to dash about.
A feeding the rabbit activity; the kids can feed the bunnies with the felt vegetables. It wasn’t a hit with Javier, he got tired of this activity after a while.
Really love the cute wallpaper in this exhibition. Luckily my boys were cooperative to give me a few pose for me to snap some pictures.
Trying to snap a shot that show the ‘brotherly love’ between the boys.
But after a while, Javier can get a little tad too affection for Jayden’s liking!!!! ;O
Hahh… That’s me and Javier.
Crawling through the hole like a bunnies.
Well, this is the game station that is making them unrelunctant to leave this exhibition. Though I do not know what is so fun about this game, but it surely was a hit with them. :D It’s just a simple game of dragging the carrots to feed the bunnies.
I did mentioned that there is ample spaces for kids to ‘exercise’ right. Well my boys is making the full use of the space NOW. :P
Some other activities….
Time to make some stamps, and it sure is gigantic!! Isn’t it???? :O
This is an one and only stamp in the whole wide world!!!! JJ’s STAMP
My boys seem to be quite busy checking for cavity in the huge set of teethes.
Before we bid our goodbye, we decided to roam ‘Message Me’ Exhibition again. And this time, the boys spotted this blackboard and decided to do some writing on it.
And soon a cute little boy decided to join in their scribbling too. :D
It has been a really fun, educational and enjoyable trip for us. Perhaps we will make a trip here again when the theme changes? :D
