Writing Numbers…

Recently, Javier has started skipping his afternoon nap when he came back from school. He would rather choose to do some works or read books over sleep. Actually if he doesn’t get too cranky, I am fine with him skipping his nap. :D Reason being that if he takes his nap, he will tend to nap until 7plus.. and that is I got to drag him out of bed at 7plus, or else sleeping past 8pm is an effortless task for him :(

And I guess you can predict what will happen later on….. He is so alert and energetic, so ended up, he will only sleep in the wee hours at 2am every night which is really driving me crazy!!!!!

Ok.. back to our topic~  previously I had mentioned in my post that I had been doing some writing practices with him on alphabets, but we never touched on numbers. So I was a bit surprised that he could write numbers so well now when he was doing his Maths activity book today.

Bento #43 – Two Bunnies

So what we got here today is a simple bunnies Bento snack which delighted my boys alot.

Bento consists of peanut butter sandwich with M&M chocolates, cut-out bunnies, hotdogs, grapes and apples.

Some Fun and Sweat!!!!

That’s what we get when my boys kept bugging me to bring them to the playground!!!!!!!! :D Upon door unlock, the duo zoom and disappear in a blink of an eyes… leaving the poor mummy running after them.

Javier always like to ride his bicycle whenever I bring him for playground time while my other boy is obviously more interested in other thing.

Graduation Photo 2011 - Retake

Finally…. I got back his graduation photo which was retake a few weeks back. This is much better than the previous one, at least this look much more like my boy. :D

Bento #42 It’s Panda!

Have been taking a short break from my Bento-ing…. :D. Well, it’s becoming normal and sooooo comfortable for me to get lazy and just wanna laze about when my boys go school!!!! @@.   What prompted me to start my engine again is seeing the nice and cute Bento from some of the Bento blog which greatly inspired me.

My boys, especially Javier were pretty excited when I told him I prepared Bento snack for him when they alight from the bus.

Bento consists of bread stuff with pork floss with black beans for eye brown and nose, cheese and nori for eyes. There are also corn, apples (hole cut with straw), hotdog and jelly.

Javier reading Peter and Jane Book 3b

Currently, he is reading book 3b, and enjoying it! I would only get him to read 1 page to me everyday, but when he is in a ‘reading’ mood, he would offer to read 2,3 or even 4 pages to me. :}

As he was reading this, he was also busy munching on apple which explains why some part of the reading wasn’t very clear. :D

All about me – My body activity book

We are still going on a snail pace on our “About Me” Theme. Today we did some activity using ”My body and clothes” book.

Just some work

During his free time, he likes to dig out books and ask me whether he can do it. Currently, we are taking a slow pace for him to learn writing his alphabets. He is much more confident in his writing now. When he is in a pretty good mood, he loves to scribble some letters and show it to me.

Having Fun with Coins

While waiting for our food, Jayden was playing with the coins on the table. So D decided to have some counting game with him. D would say he wants “$1.20” and Jayden would pick out the coins needed to make up the amount and show it to D. I was quite surprise he is pretty good in it now.

Swimming Lesson 12

It’s fast! Jayden has already learn swimming for 3 month as of today. All was going well for him until he fell sick during Lesson 10, and from lesson 11 onwards, coaxing him to go for his swim lesson is a torture for all of us. :( He would give us all sort of excuses to free him from going for his lesson… he would cry la… throw tantrum la…. . And of course, we coax, threaten abit and drag him abit to make him go. We doesn’t want him to stop now as we know he enjoys the swimming lesson alot and most of all, he is progressing well now.

And of course, our guess weren’t wrong, twice after the lesson he told us ‘he is only joking, and of course he wanted to continue with the swim lesson!” :P

For my other boy wasn’t very keen to have a dip for these few weeks, thus we will explore my camera while we waited for Jayden to finish his lesson.

During their free time…

This is normally what happens. One is busy with the phone game while the other would prefer playing with toys or puzzle. :D

Bento #41 Big Eyes Piggies

Since Jayden wanted to eat this pink buns, thus we can a piggies Bento today.

Bento #40 Green eye Bunny

No intention to sound scary here :P … the green eye was a random pick admist my m&m chocolate to act as the eyes of the bunny.  The bunny was a request by Javier a few days ago, thus I decided to make one for him today.

Bento consist of Bunny sandwiches, banana slices and apples.

My simple lunch – 酿豆腐

I cooked a simple lunch for myself after sending my boys to school.

Three of them….

I guess sometimes words are not needed to speak of how much the boys enjoyed each other company. Let the remarkable expression of the 3 boys tell you so! :D

The Duo Cupcakes

The boys has been bugging me to bake cupcakes for them a few days ago. Initially I was thinking of trying out a new recipe “Oreo Cupcakes”, but the lazy bug in me decided to leave this for another day. :P So Tada.. I bake a mixture of butter cupcakes and chocolate cupcakes for them. And of course butter for Jayden and chocolate for Javier.

Bollywood Veggies

Continuing our prawn fishing, we drive over to Bollywood Veggies which is just a few minutes drive away from D’Kranji Farm Resort. Bollywood Veggies grows a vast variety of fruits, vegetables, flowers and spices.  Its’ really an “eye opening” experience for me, a great place for education, and relaxation.

Make a contribution of $2 per person to tour the farm on your own or just simply relax and have a bite at the Poison Ivy Bistro. Judging from the good comments given by people about this Bistro, I guess the food should be quite good, though we did not dine there. Btw, be sure to try their ever-popular House Banana Bread which is highly recommended by many.

Prawn Fishing @ D’Kranji Farm Resort

Before heading there, I was really having high expectation of this farm resort after seeing the comments while surfing the internet for more information on this farm. But I was thoroughly disappointed with what greeted me there which I will talk more about later. But at least my boys have a fun time prawn fishing there.

After walking about the premises, it looks like there was really nothing interesting here except for the prawn fishing activity. Thus I decided to let the boys have an hr of prawn fishing, and of course, they were very very delighted with my wise decision.

We went Clip Clop .^. .^.

It seems that D hadn’t had enough of Pasir Ris Park from our previous visit last Sunday. He asks us whether we are keen to pop over there again? I was feeling a tad lazy and sleepy in the late afternoon after Jayden class. But my boys surely doesn’t feel so and thus they happily set off for the park. But the visit today was definitely a fresh one for my boys. :D That’s because they are going for their 1st pony ride today!

Promoted!

He is a proud little green belt now, eagerly trying to show his new belt to me after his lesson.

Bento #39 Piggy or Bear??

Honestly, looking at it, I was wondering???? Is it a pig or a bear????? It was a rather rush Bento that I made today after busy gossiping at my neighbor's place for a rather long time.

After heading back to my place, I was at a lost to what character I wanted to make and thus I came up with this…. half piggy and half bear. :P

Bento consists of Bear Sandwich, apples and strawberry yogurt.

Learn to Count

As I mentioned in the earlier post, Javier like to rummage through my messy study-room, he happens to dig out this magnetic number activity book. He ran to me eagerly showing me the gem that he had found.

This book was bought long ago at the books warehouse sale which is a steal for only $10.

Bento #38 In the Garden

I decided to make a garden theme with a froggy Bento for today. My boys were not too happy that I had forgotten to make Bento for them yesterday. Strangely, it has become a routine for them see one when they come home every day. The 1st question when they bounced down from the school bus is “Mummy, did you prepare anything for me?” If I say ‘no’, they tend to be very disappointed. :(

Bento consists of London Choco Roll with cheese and gummy eyes, heart shape peanut butter sandwich, flowery hotdog, quail eggs, apples and Jelly.

We went Sembawang Shopping Centre ….

A New Jacket for Javier! He has been waiting for days to see rain. Thus you cannot imagine how happy he was when it rains this evening. He was practically skipping to the bathroom to shower and couldn't wait to put on his jacket for his trip to Sembawang Shopping Centre.

Bento #37 DomoKun Bento

I had wanted to make a cute DomoKun Bento for my boys but ended up it look like a scary monster instead. Guess I had to try harder next time.

Bento consists of peanut butter sandwich and chocolate cake with cheese, rock melon and quail egg.

Every Tuesday…

Tuesday is also call our “Bonding Day”. That is me togather with Jayden would send Javier to his enrichment class. We would take a leisure stroll to the bus stop, along the way my boys would stop and admire the greenery or flowers, or simply chasing each other and race each other to the bus stop. :D

Our Mid-Autumn Celebration…

Honestly, the main joy I found today is seeing the kids enjoying so much playing with the sparklers. I got to thank my friend Haiyun for sponsoring the Sparklers.

中秋节快乐 - Happy Mid-Autumn Festival!

I still remembered when I was small,  I will ask my parents to buy me candles and lantern on this special day. All the kids were be carrying their paper lantern walking around. The atmosphere is so different from now, I would look forward to this day year after year.  Nowadays, its quite uncommon to see kids walking around holding lantern, instead, it would be the adults holding for them. :P Thus Jayden even told me not to buy one for him. ;{

Instead I see kids playing with sparklers when I brought my kids for some mid autumn gathering with my friends and neighbors  at the playground. (And that includes my boys, who were busy with the sparklers too).

Today which is a special day and no matter where you are ….  在此,我祝大家中秋节快乐!!!!  <:D-*

Pasir Ris Park

The rain finally stopped~ thus we decided to head to our 2nd destination --- Pasir Ris Park.

The park was pretty deserted due to the earlier downpour. Javier was so anxious to hit the park that he doesn’t even wanted to wait for us. And my other monkey was having a mood swing and refused to get down the car. Sometimes it can get pretty frustrating having to put up with their swinging mood… They seems to be testing my limit everyday, taking turns to throw their tantrums.  :(

SingKids Play System

The holidays zoom by in a flash with the many activities which we have had for the past few days. Soon it is back to reality for us, the madness in the morning, the screaming going on in my house for my boy to learn his spelling and to do his homework….

Thus to mark an end to this seemingly long school holidays, we had a fun-filled Sunday which my boys enjoyed themselves to the fullest with indoor and forgetting outdoor play  too.

Come join us in our journey to a fun filled Sunday! :D

Celebrating Father’s 57th Birthday

Continuing our 2nd birthday meal here. Frankly, I was still full from the previous one. :P

Times flies, its already the 57th birthday we are celebrating with my father. I guess the best birthday present for my father is none other than getting togather to have a meal togather. We had a simple meal at Guilin Restaurant located near Bt Gombak MRT Station  situated in Home-Team NS Bukit Batok Clubhouse.

What interest the kids is definitely not these yummy dishes below but singing the birthday song and enjoying the cake. The dishes is not bad, but it might be due to the fullness inside me that I did not really eat much for this meal.

FIL Birthday Lunch!

We had a rather busy Saturday which includes bringing Jayden to the studio for the retaking of the graduation portrait follow by attending 2 birthday celebration, which is my father and FILs’. We started off with a birthday lunch at Long Beach Seafood @ East Coast. This has become one of the favourite hunt for my Inlaw’s family as it serves nice food and very good service.

Quite strangely, we managed to be on time for today date, more specifically we are early by half hr. :P.

He looks like a little Beng wearing the flowery shirt, he has his own preference when it comes to dressing, he chooses his own clothes and determine how to wear it which includes his underpants. :P

My New Toy!

Well, this is my newly acquired gadget Lumix G3. :D I am definitely not a pro when it comes to photography, but I do hope to have a camera which is easy to use and at the same time let me take good quality pictures. Thus we decided to get this camera. It is a compact, SLR-styled mirror-less interchangeable lens camera that uses the Micro Four Thirds standard. Panasonic G3 is noticeably slimmer front to back as well. In addition the LCD screen can be folder out and rotates 270 degrees which is a very handy feature.

Dumpling Making Session

I did something really meaningful today. ;D (oops, does it means that I am doing unmeaningful things every other days.) :P  I had a dumpling making session with my group of  “aunty” friends today. :D Well at least that’s what the kids addressed us as …. “AUNTY!!!!”  And I couldn’t agree more, I am really getting old.

An update on our Chinese learning using 四五快读。

Cars 2

They are almost half way through their September school holidays. And we certainly are busy over the past few days with play-date and makan date, and today is no exception, where we decided to catch a movie with his buddy.

After discussing and casting of votes by the boys on which movie we are gonna to watch , we have come to the verdict that “Cars 2” wins hands down over “Smurf”, though I would definitely give my vote to “Smurf” at any time if the choice is for me to decide. :P

A Cook and Makan Date

It was a last minute decision to meet up for a Cook and Makan session at my neighbor's place today. Hastily, deciding to cook 面粉粿 for our lunch today, I started to prepare the dough, while HaiYun aka my neighbor started preparing the soup base and Xiu Yan went marketing to buy the ingredients.

The 3 of us finally managed to whip up the meal for the 8 of us after 1hr plus. It wasn’t a sumptuous meal but I like this simple, light lunch meal, and most of all we had a fun time cooking togather and gossiping at the same time.

All about Me: My 5 Senses

We did a fun activity involving taste which my boys enjoyed alot. I blindfolded them which left them giggling and trying to peep from the cloth when doing this activity. :D

Having fun with plastic fruits

It seems fun to Javier as he likes to play with these rubber fruits anytime when it comes into his mind.

Since he is happily playing with it, I decided to do some patterning with him. I was quite surprise he is quite good in it now as compared to the last time we did this. :D Simple activity like this can keep him occupied for close to 45 minutes.

A Library Date with Bing Heng

Today, we met up with Bing Heng for a library date. As usual, any reason for my boys to get out of the house is good news to them. They were very happy when I told them I am bringing them to the library, and ‘double happy’ when they heard that we will be meeting Bing Heng too. :D

The boys sure have a creative mind, they can even treat this as a playing slide when we were waiting for our bus at the bus stop.

Here they go…

潘嘉麗 - 说不哭

A really nice song by Kelly Pan, simply love this song when I first heard it.

Taekwondo Grading

We woke up bright and early for Jayden’s Taekwondo Grading. But prior to the grading, we met up with Jayden Taekwondo’s buddy to have our breakfast at Queensway Ridout Tea Garden MacDonald.  The 1st time I was here, we did not get a chance to explore the surrounding due to the heavy downpour. Thus this time round, after exploring , we discover that there is gem hidden in this place, which is none other than the pond which is  filled with turtles and fish.

Lantern Festival Celebration 2011

It was an early Lantern Festival Celebration. The boys were thrill and looking forward to it! But the real reason that make them so enthusiastic about it, is they would be able to meet their cousin there and being able to play with them. Thus to them, who cares about lantern Festival when they can play! :D

Our photo…

Love this photo of me with Javier.

It’s school holiday ~ ~

School Holiday means I don’t need to rush the boys in the morning getting for school, no tantrum from Javier screaming that he doesn’t want to go to school in the morning, no spelling, no homework,…  We can even take a leisure walk to MacDonald and have a leisure breakfast. :D It also means they can have play-date with friends and cousins. And that’s precisely what we did today, having a play-date with their cousin at my brother’s place. We are definitely looking forward to more play-date! ~

Happy School Holiday! :D
