Guangzhou Trip 24~28 June 2013 (Day 01)

We wasted no time upon landing in Guangzhou Airport, we took a cab to our hotel, we met a really friendly taxi uncle who chit chat with us and introducing a few tourist spots to us. Finally we reached our hotel after around a 45 minutes journey. Sheraton Guangzhou Hotel is located right in the heart of Tianhe central business district. In addition, it is located just next to Tee Mall; the most popular shopping mall in the city, built above the metro station; 体育西路 (Line 1). Guangzhou is nothing like the stuffs which I heard or read about, it is a very clean place and transportation is very convenient.

Yes, you see correctly, the washroom has a see through glass~ But not to worry, you can press a button inside to 'block' the view from outside. I certainly feel abit uncomfortable having someone see me doing “my business” when I am inside. Thus I decided to covered it UP!! (^__^).

Just press this button is all it takes. I bet my boys would be busy with this if there were to be here with us on this trip.
This is the view from my room, eateries is just across the road which means that finding food to stuff our tummy is easy.

Me and my fat(as what my boys call me now) tummy.

Our hotel is conveniently located near many shopping spots. That’s my main reason for willing to tag along D for this business trip. I reckon it would be much more convenient for me to shop around since I do just have to walk a few steps and I can start shopping. Actually I love to shop alone without D, I am not sure why~~~ when I do shopping, his presence give me a silent stressfulness. I would rather go alone and take my own sweet time to choose and also without him giving me a disapproving look whenever I buy too much! (^_-) Of course there is still an advantage when he shop with me, I have a free helper to carry my loots for me!!!! Haha…

Just beside the hotel is a big shopping mall
天河城 TeeMall. We decided to have our lunch there as there is a wide selection of Chinese Restaurant to choose from. After walking around, we decided on 稻香 since the food on the menu looks appetizing and it seems quite popular, though it was already 2plus in the afternoon, it was still packed with diners.

We choose Dim Sum as I was having a craving for it at the moment, when it comes to food, D is rather simple and he would like me decide on where to dine and what food to order.

The restaurant is bright and clean and the service is good. I have learnt something new from my GZ trip, when we want to call the waitress, we shouldn’t call “小姐”instead we should address them by “服务员”.

The food we ordered, it seems that we had order a bit too much.

I couldn’t remember clearly what is this dish, but it was the yummiest thing among all the dishes we ordered. I saw that every table seems to have this snack and thus checked out with the waitress and at the same time order one for ourselves. (^__^)

After our lunch, D need to go to the office to do some work, so that left me alone to do my shopping. There were sales everywhere when I was there. But the stuffs in this shopping mall is much too expensive (probably much more ex than in Singapore), so I just window shop and enjoyed the air-con. But I do managed to get some books for the boys here.

I venture out of the mall after a hour long fruitless shopping. I learnt that there is a big shopping area at the 体育西路 Metro station (which is the station just a few steps from Sheraton Hotel), thus decided to make my way there. As you can see from the picture below its called TianHe Festival Walk (天河又一城.)

Along the walk, I can see many street hawkers selling interesting stuffs, what caught my attention is these little cute puppies and rabbits. Besides pets, there is also cheap clothes, umbrellas or souvenirs which we can get here, but I did not linger long here as it was quite jammed with pedestrian walking along.

This is the place which I am talking about, there were stretches and stretches of shops with so many goodies for me to discover. The price is great and the stuffs sold here is kinda good in terms of quality. Seriously if you want to finish all the shops here, it is going to take you one full day. If you are hungry, you can grab some snacks too. I did not take much photos of the shop here as I was going to start my shopping spree now!!!!!

It was a fruitful trip for me in the metro station mall, I managed to get myself bags and clothes… WooHoo… After soaking myself here for close to 2hrs, I need to tear myself from here. Frankly its so difficult when I can see all the shops beckoning for me to visit them! ^^

I went back to the hotel to meet up with D as promised (actually he was kinda worried about me as I can go really crazy when I starts to shop, thus he kept reminding me not to shop too long) As we were both tired from waking up very early for our morning flight, we decided to go to somewhere nearby for our dinner, so it is Teemall again!

I couldn’t make up my mind on what to eat, so in the end we decided on Ajisen Ramen. I was surprised to see that it is so much cheaper here. Like it cost less than S$5 for this bowl of Ramen (cheap cheap)

D had this fried dumpling as he wasn’t feeling too hungry.

Our drink ~ Ice milk tea and Lychee drink

Time to head back to hotel after a long day. <Yawn>. That’s all for my Day 01, Stay tune for my Day 02! ^^

    1. (^__^) Thanks for such a sweet compliment! Haha.. great mind think alike! I can get more shopping done when I shop alone. When he is with me, he always got the disapproving look that says "when would this woman stop buying????... still not enough????" keke. And after that follow by impatient and tired look, thus I got to chop chop finish my shopping. :P
