Vroom Vroom Cars Patterning

image

I came to know about this book “Beep Beep, Vroom Vroom” from myplayschool.net. And I thought it would be a fun book to read about patterning.

And it was such a hit with the boys, that I printed the printable activities from here a few days after we read the book.

We went through the patterning that was shown in the books and teach Javier about sorting.

We also did patterning based on the sequence shown in the book and other new suggestion presented in the book.

Kevin says “I want to see my cars just the way I left them” before he left for the kitchen. As Kevin doesn’t allow Molly (Kevin’s sister) to play with his car, so after Kevin left, Molly secretly played with his car. However, upon hearing someone comes near the door, Molly would quickly arranged the cars back on the shelf. So as we turn each page, I would ask my boys whether this the the right sequence that is arranged by Molly.  And they were quick and good in spotting the correct/wrong sequence.

They had a fun time banging, crashing the ‘paper cars’ too. :D

Since we are having so much fun with the car themes; we went to the library to borrow other transportation story books to go with our Car theme.

Red Light, Green Light by Anastasia SuenJayden absolutely adores this book! It is a very fun book for to read and is one of Jayden’s all time favorite books for the last few weeks. The pictures are bright and clever and we have fun seeing how the little boy in the book sets up his play area.

Little Blue Truck by Alice Schertle The little truck beeps its horn and numerous animals sound their moos, quacks, clucks, peeps, etc. A great read for young children, and a valuable tool for teaching animals and animal sounds.

This story is good that it teaches the children to respect. If we respect and appreciate those around us, they'll be there when we need them. And also, it's a message of loving your enemies. Even when a person doesn't show us respect, we can still help them out to show others that love and respect is better for everyone.
