3 days ago, Jayden started running a high fever in school, he was still ok when I sent him to school in the afternoon. But at 4.30pm, he school rang me up and told me to fetch him back from school telling me that he is having a fever 38.5 degree. So I brought him home and fed him some medicine and sent him to rest and the same time to monitor his condition. That night, at 10pm, the little one also started running a high fever- and my nightmare begin….. the temperature was shooting high high as the night progress. I couldn’t sleep and cannot sleep due to the worrying. For the whole night I was busy feeding them medicine and sponging them to try to bring down the temperature.
The next day, Jayden was much better and his fever was under control. But little one was still running a very high fever (the highest it goes was 40.4 degree) I quickly rushed him to the clinic. After checking him, the doctor told me that his tonsil was swollen and thus this maybe the causes for his fever. So fever medicine and anit-biotics was prescribed. And when we went back, the war started again… the refused to drink the medicine or water, So I had to force him to take. For the past 2 days, he hardly eat any food and I never suspected it to be other causes until….
On Thursday, Javier complain of mouth pain, thus I used the torch light to see the condition of his tonsil which I then spotted a few white spots near his throats and 2 on his lips. And I was thinking this looks like hfmd. Thus I quickly brought him to the clinic (I decided to go to another clinic) to again to have him checked. And it is indeed HFMD.
It is really heart pain to see them see them in pain. But for Jayden he doesn’t really complain of any pain thus I never suspected that he have hfmd. But for Javier, it was a totally different story, he was whining for the past 2 days and couldn’t eat and cannot sleep well. But I am glad that they are on the road to recovery now. Javier is started to eat again though still not a lot and of course he is back to his mischievous self again.
But as you can see from the below picture, he was really reluctant to take pictures. Thus he always gave me the sulky look when I told him to pose for the camera. (but I was lucky to capture a few good shots ^^)
