Imperial Treasure Super Peking Duck Restaurant

It was our first time dining here. As the name imply this restaurant is famous for its Peking duck – I guess the name could not be more obvious. I was looking forward to our lunch here after reading and hearing good reviews about this restaurant. We were lucky enough to reserve a table for today, but it was quite late at 1.30pm. and even with the booking, we were limited by the 1.5 hour meal time.

Dim sum was served first to feel our rumbling tummy.

The fish dish

Peking Duck ($68 for whole duck)

Like any good Peking duck restaurant, the chef will carve up the duck right at the table. First he removed just the skin off the breast, which he did with skill. The duck skin were thin and crispy.(did not have time to take a picture of the crispy duck skin, as it was snapped up in a flash. Ahaha…)

Next came a couple of platters of duck slices featuring both skin and duck meat as the above picture. Our verdict is that the duck meat is tender and juicy. It was served with the popiah wrap that you can fold the meat in, or for a sweet treat, dip the meat in a saucer of sugar - delicious. (I would well prefer eating without any sweetness) ^_^

Even Javier was in love with it, I think he salvage almost 5 pieces of the duck skin.

A very traditional Chinese vegetable dish.

Also one of the recommended dish was this tofu, spinach and mushroom dish. but there are two different kinds of tofu in this dish. The bottom layer is actually a tofu with blended spinach.

My comment on this restaurant are the food is really tasty, thumbs up for their service too, the staffs are very attentive and courteous! Do remember to pre-order the Peking duck when you make reservations. ^_^

Pre National Day Celebration

The boys will be celebrating National Day in school today. Thus we need to dress them in red and white, but one boy decided that he prefer to wear his PE attire instead of wearing RED.

Both of them were kinda excited today and so little boy woke up at 4plus in the morning and told me us to get him ready for school!!!!!! Arggggg…. (he nearly drove us crazy!!!!) Actually it was Jayden who is supposed to wake up at 6.10pm to catch his school bus arriving at 6.35am and not him who is going to school early. Finally after a lot playing and mumbling to himself and disturbing me also, he finally went back to LaLa land at 8am.

Some pictures of my cheeky boys in action.

Pretending to be asleep.

I love this picture a lot… love their happy smile! ^_^

Before I end this post. I would like to wish all of us a Happy National Day.

Istana Open House 2012

Countless of times whenever we passed by here, the boys were curious about this place after we told them about it and who lives here. Today they finally got the chance to explore and witness for themselves. Of course they were excited and couldn’t wait to set off for this trip.

Today the Istana is open to the public in celebration of the National Day. And beside being able to roam the Istana, the annual Istana Art Event will also be held today. Activities include a Arts and Heritage Village featuring booths by the various museums and the National Library Board, where visitors can participate in many hands-on activities.

When we reached there, thanks goodness there were no long queue!!!!! So we quickly make our way in under the scorching hot sun. And it was a really hot hot day today, practically I am melting while we stroll.

3 man chit chatting while we walk.

Of course they wouldn’t pass up any chance to run, jump when they see one!!!! ^O^

And of course this is ME!!!

Some playground activities for young kids

But look who is playing the slide!!!!! The overage kid.. Ahahaha..

Time for a cooling break… they sure look kinda messy. ahahah…

Public can also tour selected function rooms in the Istana building to view a display of gifts presented to the President and the Prime Minister by foreign dignitaries, for an additional fee of $2.

Finally we decided to take a short rest before we make our way out and a good time for snapping pictures too!!!

Here they decided to slide down instead of walking…. @_@

Lots of activities for the kids, but what interest them is this crown and sword making activities. I think they were already thinking of pretending to be the knight fighting the villain.

And I was right!!!!! Sad smile

Having blast of a time fighting each other.

We have come to the end of our trip and clearly the boys enjoyed themselves a lot. One were already telling me that he wants to come back next Sunday, and the other was asking me when can we go again???? Open-mouthed smile

Bay East Gardens

Been MIA for a kinda long time…. Mainly because my pc is giving me problem again and now that it is finally back to working condition, thought I should make some update soon! Another reason is that I wonder if anyone is still interested in reading this boring blog…

Bay East Garden consists of beautiful pavilions, wide open lawns, swaying palm trees and waist-high flowering shrubs , where you can admire the modern Marina Bay financial district skyline from along its 2km waterfront promenade.

Actually Javier wanted to go for sand digging, but instead we brought them to this garden to roam instead. Though Javier was nagging throughout the whole trip there we did not fulfilled our promise but he did enjoy himself here. ^^

We were lucky that the weather was very good today. It was already 4.30pm when we reached here after Jayden’s ICL class. Once we reached here, one boy was busy with his exploring while the other was busy scooting around.

They saw alot of small fishes and water spiders in this pond and this got them excited for quite a while…

And eventually they decided to sit down and marvel at the fishes and insects.

Just a photo of me, did not even post it in my facebook. ^^ Cos I felt it seems kinda vain to post self shot of myself. keke…

Me and my 2 boys.

A nice view of Garden by the Bay

This silly boy was trying to pull the grass apart and exerting all his strength trying to accomplish this mission.

Examining the lallang Plant

It was fun blowing it and seeing it float away. Even I was having so much fun doing it, not to mention the boys. Keke….

Dragon boat

The boys were enjoying their tugging, throwing and blowing for a good 15 minutes.

He only managed to blow it off after a few tries.

Burst out laughing when he failed after the initial few tries. ^^

My funny and comical boy asking me to take shots of him in action.

Me and D

Our happy family shot. Love this picture!!!!

The sun was starting to set and thus we decided to go for our dinner first and coming back later to catch some fireworks.

Taking a break after watching the firework.

NDP Preview Fire works.

We were lucky once again, it started to drizzle when we were on our way back to our car… and it started to pour very heavily soon after.
