This is written by Jayden for his individual writing in class few days ago. I am glad to see that he is getting better in his writing, at least the flow of the story is linked now. And his handwriting has improved a lot!!!!

Parent-Teachers Conference
I met up with Jayden class teachers today. Overall there wasn’t much issue with his work or behavior in class. Both teachers commented that he is quiet boy who don’t talk much in class except some soft chattering with the girl sitting beside him (and that wasn’t really very often too as the girl is equally quiet as Jayden ). Well, he do often wondered into space during lesson time, which isn’t a news to me already. But at least he can do his work independently and doesn’t required much help from teachers, so I presumed that he is still absorbing what the teachers are teaching though he tend to daydream lah. Ahaha…
His main weakness is conversation part (at least that is what I felt after talking to the teachers and looking at the appraisal form from the teachers). He is too soft spoken, not too confidence and tend to mumble when he needs to talk in front of the class or teacher. But teachers were hopeful that with the right coaching and guiding, he should be able to improve in his speech as he goes along. The Chinese teachers mentioned that at least he is at ease with her now as compared to the initial school term (which is a good sign). He dare to complain to his teachers now when his classmate disturb him. ;P… in the past he would 默默得忍受 (keep to himself)
I hope that my little blur boy would be able to cope with his school work and the many tests that is to come, though I really do worry about him!

P1 Parent–Teacher Conferencing
The school invited the parents to the P1 parent – teacher conferencing to provide us with an awareness of the new Chinese Language curriculum and also an opportunity to interact with Jayden’s Mother Tongue Language teacher. I feel that it’s a good that I can understand more about this new curriculum and also a chance for me to speak to Jayden’s teacher to better understand how my boy is coping in class.
Below is the list for the weightage for the assessment for this year, as you can see there is no mid-year or end of year examination for Primary 1. Whereas bite-size form of assessments will be used to assess students’ learning. This assessment will only starts in term 2, giving the students some “warming up” period.

Into P1 Journey Day 2….
Today Jayden is already into his day 2 of his primary school life…. so far he is coping well. Ironically, it is my son who told me not to worry too much. I guess my boy is already grown up, he told me not to go to his school today and see him ‘eat’. Hah… I think he feels embarrassed seeing me standing there monitoring his movement. But being the kiasu mummy, I still want to make use of the last opportunity to see my boy, making sure that he is really ok and surviving in his school.

Jayden entering into P1
He is starting his P1 today. In a totally new school, new friends, new teachers, new environment and most importantly learning to be real independent. I know in time to come, he will be fine but I just can’t stop myself from worrying… I guess he does feel nervous and at the same time looking forward to his Primary school. He is one boy who doesn’t display his feeling easily but would keep to himself. It is not easy to get him to openly discussed his feeling and thinking with us. But from what I observed him during Recess time, I know he do feel insecure and a sense of lossness today.

P1 Registration
It’s confirmed that Jayden has managed to secure a Primary one place for 2012. :D So now we just have to wait patiently for the day of the orientation on 26 November 2011.
Actually I am feeling pretty excited and nervous too to see that Jayden would be entering into a new phase of his schooling life soon. Sometime I can’t believe that time seems to pass by so quickly… and my boy is going to enter Primary school in a few months time.

Primary School for Jayden
I have registered Jayden for Primary school 2012 today. It’s a load off my mind now as I don’t have to worry about balloting. But I still need the confirmation letter from the school to notify me that Jayden is guaranteed a place in that school on this coming Thursday. But judging from the results of the below table, it is quite confirmed that our registration is ‘successful’! :D
