We set off way early when the sky is still very dark at 6.10am to avoid the massive traffic. My boys were still feeling heavy-eyed when we usher them into the car. And it was drizzling when we are about to set off…. what a great start!!!! :(
My boys having their morning milk when we are take a short rest in one of the R&R Station. Finally after four hours journey, we reached our destination------ GENTING!!!!! We quickly went to do our check in to our to Hotel. We took a queue number of 304 and below the receipt stated that currently it is serving 281. So we waited at the hotel lobby for our number.
I saw a clown pushing the ice cream cart selling ice cream and intended to snap a picture of him. But the clown saw me taking a picture of him and SIGNAL me over, and he put his wig on me and volunteer to take a picture of me!!! :P keke.. that is a definitely a funny clown. We realized our numbers seemed to take donkey times to “Flash”, so we decided to go for our lunch first. We have our lunch at HOU MEI for the chicken rice, I have taken my meal here for our last Genting Trip and love the chicken rice and bean sprouts. But this time, the meal was a real disappointment! The chicken meat was not tender and juicy at all, instead it tasted dry and the meat was tough. Even the Ipoh Hor Fun with soup was not very nice, my boys were complaining it doesn’t taste good. Ended up Jayden did not eat much, and I have to coax Javier to eat. And the total damage for this meal is RM56.
After our meal, we went back to the hotel lobby, thinking that it should be our turn soon. But as it turn out, it was not.. (Hiaz….it is a long long story which I shall not bored you with the detail here), and we waited 3hrs plus before we managed to do our check-in… I was really fuming with smoke as I waited. And Javier dozed off while waiting. The long long stretch of check in counters. Total there is 32 counters. This is really crazy, just look at this long queue, this is just the first stop to get a number for the check in queue.
After this trip, this hotel would be under my blacklist for hotel. The long waiting time is a killer and the service of hotel staff is way way below standard. :( At least the room was good, it was big!
We let the boys take a nap in the room before we start our adventure~~~~

ReplyDeleteI think Casino in Genting is still surviving! :P judging from what my hubby told me (still flooded with people)
ReplyDeleteFor me, It's such a long time since I step into casino.
I can totally understand your frustration when checking in into the hotel. That why I was happy when I did not need to do so for my last trip.
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, the food in Genting is certainly not cheap!
I was literally getting mad as the time tick by. Gosh... 3hrs plus just to check in to the room, this is truly a first experience for me.:(
