Bollywood Veggies

Continuing our prawn fishing, we drive over to Bollywood Veggies which is just a few minutes drive away from D’Kranji Farm Resort. Bollywood Veggies grows a vast variety of fruits, vegetables, flowers and spices.  Its’ really an “eye opening” experience for me, a great place for education, and relaxation.

Make a contribution of $2 per person to tour the farm on your own or just simply relax and have a bite at the Poison Ivy Bistro. Judging from the good comments given by people about this Bistro, I guess the food should be quite good, though we did not dine there. Btw, be sure to try their ever-popular House Banana Bread which is highly recommended by many.

The warning signs "Trespassers will be shot and made into Bollywood curry" and "Turn off engine when parked, or our warriors will shoot you with a cross bow". inject humor in us even before we step inside the farm for our tour. :D

There were so many things to see inside the farm, I was busy snapping pictures.. examining the plants and at the same time looking after the boys.

Beautiful flowers can be spotted here, read on to see more!!! :}

My boy was trying to leap across the drain, under normal circumstances he would have done so in a split of a second. But after D make fun of him and distracted his concentration power, he began to have second thoughts and took him a while to position and jump across.

Happily running after D and Jayden after the successful leaping attempt.

Aren’t these purple flowers nice!!!

This is the longan tree.

A closeup of a bunch longan wrapped in a cloth.

I only learnt that the name of this fruit is called custard apple after my farm tour today. :P

A rather scaring looking scarecrow….

My silly boy attempting to “EAT” a leave.

The enormous bean called “Sword Bean”.

Drumstick tree??? Jayden was giggling and at the same time asking me why is it called drumstick tree which I have no answer for it. :(

So this is how the horse radish tree looks like…..

This is what most of us are familiar with… SugarCane.

Papaya Tree

CavenDish Banana Tree.. there were more than 1 type of banana trees in this farm.

With D urging them to climb up the lookout point, it sure doesn’t take long for them to ‘obediently’ follow his command!! :D So you can guess what they did up there --- monkey-ing of course.

Upon coming down , he spotted a few busy ants crawling about and started his torturing exercise on the ants, which gotten a warning stare from me.

Snapping more pictures of flowers before I end my vegetables farm tour.

We had a lovely walk in the farm and of course some whining from Javier who is feeling tired and wanted D to carry. It is definitely  a pretty refreshing experience for us. Besides the greenery, the peaceful and relaxing surroundings is a wonderful place to relax.
