Short Getaway to Desaru! – Day 1

It was an impromtu decision to go for to Desaru. Actually after reading about this place from a blog, I was thinking it might be fun and a nice place to bring my boys to for a short recharge on one of these day before the school reopen. However the bad causeway jam was making me having second thoughts. It was until D says “let’s book the resort and go” on Sunday, which make us go ahead for this trip.  Thus…we only booked the accommodation a day before the trip, and quite luckily, we were able to book a room for us. And so off we go for our trip on Monday.

It only took us 1.5hr to reach Desaru using the E22 Senai/Desaru expressway. :D

The place we are gonna to stay for these 2 nite is none other than Lotus Desaru. After doing a quick check-in, we are ready to charge to our room. Our resort-like hotel.

Our room is a 2-storey suite where the 1st storey is the living area and the 2nd storey is the bedroom. My boys were ecstatic to realise that they could display their skill of dashing up and down the staircase for these 3 days! :POf course, they wasted no time to jump on the bed. And shortly after D decided to join in their bed rolling activity too.
Enough of jumping, time to stuff some biscuits to fill the rumbling tummy while we waited for our food to arrive.
And of course some picture snapping session.

Javier lying on the staircase munching on his biscuits.

We ordered room service as the boys prefer to rest in the room (claiming that they were tired from the journey to Desaru) and watching show at the same time for Jayden. Finally our food arrive. The food is ok, although nothing to shout about, but my fussy boys think otherwise, and refused to eat it; and prefer to munch on snacks and biscuits. :(
Finally having rested enough, it is time to hit the water park. Oh boys, aren’t my boys excited. They were practically dashing down from the room to reach the park.
Trying out the slide. Lazing on the floats.des14
Javier up to his mischief, throwing D off the float and laughing cheekily thereafter. Hmm.. should I laugh or be angry with him???? @_@

After the water-play, we decided to drive to Sungei Rengit for our dinner, although it took  us almost 30mins to find our way there( we lost our way admist driving there), but it was well worth it!!! The meal was delicious!!! There were a few seafood restaurants to choose from, but having no idea which one was good, we just simply choose one which look presentable. And this is one of the restaurant that was feature on one of Singapore variety show. (So we reckon, the food should be not bad)

des22The restaurant, or rather most seafood restaurants in Sungei Ringgit is famous for its lobster, so of course I had to try it…. :D And conclusion is that the lobster meat is QQ, fresh and i guess pretty worth it! We had our dinner at Jade Garden Seafood Restaurant.

Our yummy dinner

So after our dinner, we drove back to our hotel for R&R before the boys finally decided to rest for the day at 11pm.
