Learning and sorting Money

I chanced upon this Money activity here, where it suggested the activities using coins.
Math: Teaching Biggest & Smallest

Take each of the denomination (5 cents, 10 cents, 20 cents, 50 cents) and trace them on a paper from the smallest to the biggest. Give the coins to your child and have him match them according to the sizes. This will help him to visually discriminate the varying sizes. As soon as he is done, point to the biggest coin (50 cents) and tell him 'This is the BIGGEST coin'. Do the same with the smallest coin.

We also did some pencil rubbing on the coins. But Javier wasn’t very good in this yet as he was using far too much force when rubbing and thus it doesn’t give it very clear image .

Maths: Sorting

We also did coin sorting which he enjoyed alot.

Math: Coin Patterning

He is much better in his patterning now, but he still needs to do alot of practicing in this area.
