Punggol Reservoir & SengKang Floating Wetland

This is a great place for nature-lovers but wouldn’t be too much fun for kids who are looking forwards to playground fun. But nevertheless, they had a wild time running about in this huge open space. We spotted many turtles in the water as well as fishes and of course they were excited and couldn’t wait to bring a few home. Javier even pick up a stick and kept inching nearer and nearer to the water (trying to lure the turtle out of the water).

The boy saw some children blowing bubbles and decided to run and catch a few too.

There was a family trying to fish (though no fishing allowed here), and thus we spend a good 10 minutes standing and watching as the boys refused to move.

Though the sun is saying goodbye but we certainly are not ready to leave yet and decided to continue our wetland exploring.

But 1 little boy certainly doesn’t think so….

He refused to walk and insists that we either go home now or we carry him for the rest of the journey. :( thus we got no choice but to take turns to carry him.

Continuing our journey…. Jayden decided to take a picture with this cactus.

The SengKang Floating Wetland links the Anchorvale Community Club to the Sengkang Riverside Park via a boardwalk and a bridge where we are standing on right now.

The wetland also provides a habitat for fish, bird and other wildlife. Notice the picture below, a huge flock of birds flew to the leave-less tree ready to rest for the night.

At least, little boy becomes much better as we were walking the bridge, perhaps its the fish and the birds that perk him up.

Besides beautifying the reservoir, these plants also have any important job that is to keep the water clean.

When you are tired and feel like taking a rest, there is a mangosteen pavilion and orange seats for you. It is quite fun to sit on oranges and my boys were so busy inside the mangosteen which I observed other kids had the same thoughts too!! :D

In case you are wondering what are they doing inside. They were busy looking for ants and bugs or just busy sliding down from the seats.

Perhaps it would be good if we had brought the bike along, its really a good place for riding bikes and of course picnic too.
