Masak Masak: My Childhood + PLAY @ National Museum of Singapore

Children’s Season at the National Museum of Singapore is back! Titled Masak Masak, the special exhibition centres around the theme of My Childhood features familiar playgrounds and larger than life games of yesteryear. I feel that my boys would enjoy this greatly thus we brought them there today. It’s great to let them “played with” what used to be the games during our time too.

The
huge dragon inflatable outside the Museum. It’s a pity that my boys did not get to play it as it was closed when we were there due to a heavy rain earlier on.

We started at play @ NMS!

But we did not really get to play much here. It was jam packed full of people especially the cooking station and the boys could hardly squeeze through the crowds to play the activity. Well for Joelle, she  was still too young to appreciate the activities here yet.  The paper embossed with his favourite food – Roti Prata

Matchy matchy station- wasn’t a favourite with the kids as they were no one playing when we were there, all the kids seem to be busy cooking!

It was showing a girly cartoon inside the tent which doesn’t caught my boys’ attention.

This is the only station – picking berries which I observed to have the least kids and thus the safest for me to let Joelle sit and play. She was supposed to pick and transfer them to the basket but she was doing none of it. She was only picking it and stuffing it inside her mouth. ^^

Jayden wasn’t  keen to play all these activities in the various stations and would rather keep girl company by doing silly things to make her laugh. Thus you can see why we did not spent too much time here.

Located at Level 2, The next stop for us is none other than these some sculptures waiting for us to explore. It was so much fun even for me.

Its time for Old school games!!!

The gigantic five stone that is bigger than our head. The boys were having so much fun throwing the five stones and catching it with the net.
The proceed to the gor-li station (aka marble), it was a hit with the kids!!!!
Rouleaux was next….

Peeping through the hole, we can see the different scenes inspired by daily lives, movies and places around the world which are made out of reused toilet roll.

Over here, Cardboard play station where all things build using carton boxes!

Javier build a small stall selling his another favourite food – Fried Chicken Wings. ^^

Us beside the carousel, Javier was busy hugging the carousel and refuse to take this picture with us.
Finally a shot of us before I end this post.

It was definitely a fun-filled day for us and Joelle was a sweet girl and very “cooperative” throughout our trip.
